Autobahn.tech Expands to Seven Countries in the Adriatic Region
Autobahn.tech, the Estonian-built Vehicle Sales Platform and operating system for automotive sales, is expanding into seven markets in the Adriatic region: Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Albania.
Already used by nearly 400 dealerships across five countries, Autobahn.tech is now bringing its platform to one of Europe’s most diverse and fast-developing automotive regions. The expansion marks the next step in the company’s international growth and strengthens its position as a category-defining technology platform for the automotive industry.
According to Darin Janković, Autobahn.tech’s Regional Manager for the Adriatic region, the local automotive markets are complex due to their diversity and different stages of development, but they also offer significant opportunities.
“Slovenia is a well-established market that can today be compared with stable European markets such as Austria or Switzerland. Last year, approximately 65,000 new cars were registered in Slovenia, with an exceptionally high share of vehicles in higher equipment grades,” said Janković, an automotive industry expert with 30 years of experience.
“Croatia follows as a relatively developed market that is still far from reaching its full potential. Around 70,000 vehicles were registered there last year, and the market is also characterised by a high share of rental cars, which creates its own set of challenges for the sector,” he added.
Janković sees Serbia as the market with the greatest growth potential. Although Serbia is outside the European Union, it stands out due to its size and development opportunities.
“Serbia has twice the population of Slovenia and Croatia combined, yet only around 32,000 new vehicles were registered there last year. This makes Serbia one of the most promising growth markets for Autobahn,” Janković explained.
Stig Terje Henriksen, CEO of Autobahn.tech, said the expansion into new markets is a planned step in the company’s strategy to bring modern, data-driven solutions to the automotive industry across Europe.
“Last year, Autobahn.tech nearly doubled its revenue. To maintain this pace of growth, it is important for us to be present at the right time in new and rapidly developing markets,” said Henriksen.
Today, the Autobahn platform is used by nearly 400 dealerships in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Finland. More than 120,000 vehicle sales transactions have been completed through the platform, with a total value exceeding EUR 2 billion.
Founded in 2012, Autobahn.tech is backed by Estonian entrepreneurs Väino Kaldoja, Kristjan-Thor Vähi, and Juss Lemba, German company e&Co. AG, and other international shareholders.
